• Account information: Email address, display name, and password when you create an account, or name and email via Google OAuth sign-in.
• Toy photos: Images of your child's toys that you upload to generate personalized stories.
• Story preferences: Challenges, locations, art styles, languages, and page counts you select when creating a book.
• Payment information: Billing details processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card numbers on our servers.
• Shipping information: Name and mailing address when you order a printed book, shared with our print fulfillment partner (Lulu).
• Profile information: Display name and optional profile photo.

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the application, collected via PostHog analytics.
• Device information: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and device identifiers.
• Cookies: We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and improve your experience.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Generate personalized AI storybooks using your toy photos and story preferences
• Process payments and fulfill print orders
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, order updates, book readiness notifications)

3. AI-Generated Content

Ethan Tales uses third-party AI services (Google Gemini) to generate story text and illustrations based on your inputs (toy photos, challenge selections, and preferences). Your toy photos are sent to these AI services solely for the purpose of generating your storybook content. We do not use your photos or generated content to train AI models.

4. Children's Privacy

Ethan Tales creates content designed for children, but the Service is intended for use by parents and guardians (aged 18 or older). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's interaction with any generated storybook content. The toy photos and story preferences you provide may relate to your child, but this information is collected from you, the parent or guardian, not from the child.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without parental consent, please contact us at support@nextapps.fun and we will promptly delete such information.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only with the following third-party service providers, as necessary to operate our Services:

• Supabase: Authentication, database, and file storage
• Google (Gemini AI): Story and illustration generation
• Stripe: Payment processing
• Lulu: Print-on-demand book fulfillment and shipping
• Resend: Transactional email delivery
• PostHog: Product analytics

We may also disclose your information if required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change in ownership or control.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information, toy photos, and generated books for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data, toy photos, books, and order history. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, financial record-keeping).

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit (SSL/TLS), secure storage on protected servers, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
